Synopsis

You have all that data, Gigs and gigs nearly a Terabyte, wouldn't it be nice to know how your disk drive is doing!  Thought you could only get those tools with big expensive server and raid/io equipment ?  Your average off the shelf ide/sata disk drive has had the ability to tell you information about the health of the drive for years, I will show you some Linux tools to get that info, and to setup your system to automatcally inform of changes in the status of your disk drives.  So hopefully you can backup your info and replace the drive before you have  a problem.
