Using Linux as a Terminal Server.

What is a Terminal Server ?

Terminal server is a server that servers most the needs of a computer.  So the machines can be less powerful, and require less that a conventional computer.  This can be to variing degrees, but often the server does all storage to disk at minium, sometimes can involve

Why would someone use LTSP ? (Why not just use Linux Computers ?)

This is a common question.  Some advantages are:
    Reduced TCO

because all information is stored on the server it is easy to update the clients, easy to replace clients and deploy clients.  It becomes just a matter of replacing mahicnes, no new config or software loading for a new machine.
    Reduced cost of clients

because most of the applications run on the server and are served to the clients via the network the client requirements are less.  So the machine can easily be older computers or less expensive machines.
