I've been using Linux since about 1999.  I'm a moderately knowledgeable user - I have no academic Unix background

but have been playing with computers - mostly avocationally - for many years,  Got my own computer in 1979 - 6502 based single board "Sym" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SYM-1) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SYM-1)) .  Used the Forth programming language  (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forth_%28programming_language%29)

Since 1992 I've managed the Cohousing-L listserv (http://cohousing.org/cohousing-L)  I've broadened that

effort to other lists and call it Communications for Justice which provides free, superior listserv's w/o ads

to qualified groups using open source Mailman listserv with much superior searchable Mhonarc archives , see (http://justcomm.org)  Related that I started (http://wiki.cohousing.org/) (http://wiki.cohousing.org/%29)
